Laevituas

Laevituas is a mail-order succulent service I developed. I started with the concepting and logo. The name is a fusion of the latin words "Aevitas" which means "unending lifetime" and "Laetus" meaning "Colorful" so together they become, "Colorful Immortals" which is a fair analogy for the nature of succulents. I took this and then created the company's logo. I used a prism concept, from the use of color and the geometric growth patterns of most succulents, and created an image using outlined shapes.  What resulted was a pentagram with multiple triangles emerging in rising sequence from the base. I also included a written pronunciation of the company's name, to aid in communication.

Focused on sustainability, every aspect is intended to cut down on waste. The original packaging designs I developed are made from bamboo and also serve as a planter for the purchased plants. I used laser printing to avoid using any harmful dyes. For the inner packaging, which holds the actual plants and keeps them from being damaged, I created my own biodegradable, fertilizer infused paper and made flowering, prismatic, paper cups, to keep consistent with the geometric theme.

There are three different package designs. The first is a single order, you receive a five sided planter box containing a single small succulent.  The second is a double order, a six sided long box planter and two small succulents. & the third is the large order, an eight sided planter with a single large succulent. Each box features a different design and are a unique addition to any planter's collection.
